ETA: How to apply for the Electronic Travel Authorization for the UK

The United Kingdom requires an ETA for short trips. If you are going to attend one of the BEO World programs, it is very important that you consider this information.

Starting from January 2025, theres a crucial change in the immigration requirements for entering the United Kingdom. Citizens of certain countries will be required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to enter the country. The ETA is a new entry requirement for citizens of countries that do not currently require a visa to enter the UK for short periods.


Some of these countries are:


Argentina

Brasil

Chile

Colombia

Costa Rica

Guatemala

Mexico

Nicaragua

Panama

Paraguay

Peru


The ETA application process is done online through the official UK government website and requires will be able to apply for an ETA starting from November 27, 2024. The requirements for the application are as follows:


  1. A payment of £10 (which can be made using a debit or credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay).

  2. A passport photograph (please ensure it is the same passport that will be used to enter the United Kingdom)

  3. A photo of the applicant

  4. Access to an email account
