The Key to the World: The Power of Knowledge and Learning

Knowledge is the key needed to open the doors that will benefit you and lead you through the right paths in life. Many people believe that money and connections are all you should have to be successful, powerful or be considered somebody of high social status; however, even though those two elements might be of paramount importance to look at a bright outcome through the keyhole; the key to unlock the door is still missing.

As the years pass by, learning, going to school, reading, critical thinking, analyzing and holding knowledge, are concepts or simple human qualities that have slowly stopped being cataloged as that but rather “genius” behaviors, and I strongly disagree with that. Years, and years, and years and more years ago, people with the highest level of knowledge would be praised and admired by the majority, because they were the ones to ask questions; the ones who looked at a bigger picture.

It is true that centuries have passed since society worked that way, and that nowadays we do not all have the same opportunities, resources, or even the willpower to take action. Nonetheless, people who do have the right opportunities, are not taking advantage to learn more but, trying not to learn. This, in lesser words means that the concept of “power” in this society is being distorted.

Give Yourself an Opportunity to be Powerful

“Knowledge is power” (Bacon, F., 1597, “Meditationes Sacrae”), yes, another clichè phrase we have all heard at some point in our lives. Some of you may see it that way, but I believe that you attribute power to the words, and I highly recommend giving a profound meaning to this quote. As I grow up, I have acquired a deeper understanding of how we underestimate our capabilities as we develop more concern over what matters to us, but, why do we question ourselves so much? Here are some of the reasons why:

  • A wider range of knowledge means having a broader perspective that obligates you to learn more, and that cycle never stops.

  • The more questions you ask either yourself or someone else, will mean understanding different views on the same topic.

  • Critical thinking involves doing research and asking, do not be scared to do so for learning more.

It is very difficult to find ways of being powerful in a society that is managed by the ones who have the most of it, but always remember that whoever has the most knowledge about anything, wins. There are complementary abilities that will help you get this power, but the base is always knowledge. Do not be scared to ask, to want to know more; this is exactly the road you need to take.

The AI Takeover

Artificial Intelligence is factually the current number one reason for regression in student academic performance, not only that, but also worldwide intellectual decline. As someone who loves technology and truly believes the future will depend on it, we must teach the future generations how to manage and make the correct use of it. Artificial Intelligence is not the problem, human ignorance is. Then, how can we battle ignorance? By learning.

Making use of AI to learn is an excellent alternative we should all start applying, since it will soon develop even more features and everybody should keep updated regarding these new updates. Nevertheless, we should not only guide ourselves by using the tools of the future to completely extinguish traditional learning ways.

Reading, doing research by making use of credible sources, and exploring different topics makes the difference, and even though it may seem simple, it is not. No one has ever said learning is easy; learning is a process we all need to deeply connect with.

Learning from Different Parts of The World

Ideas are floating everywhere, they just need someone to catch them and perform. From my experience, I have not only learned at school, courses or from tutors. Traveling has had one of the greatest impacts on my perspectives to different topics. Going to Greece and learning about the ancient civilizations, mythology and temples, visiting Croatia and getting to know the history of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, watching ruins and century-old architecture pieces in Italy. All of this makes learning, in some way, the most precious experience we can have as human beings.

I would love to mention, of course, my most recent experience with traveling. BEO World 2026, it was not just a school trip; it was the realization that there is so much more to life than just what you know. As someone who had never been to the UK until going to BEO, watching the Big Ben, visiting Buckingham Palace, and getting on double decker buses is not the norm for me. Learning while traveling is the most precious experience, genuine and ephemeral experience. Getting to know the world not only by textbooks but by looking with your own eyes at everything you once had to watch through a screen is a mesmerizing adventure.

Take the Initiative

If you, the reader, want to take anything from this article, take motivation; use it as an impulse to want to learn more, to be powerful. Read, ask the AI, do research, be curious; never lose the spark that makes you human. You will make mistakes, sometimes it will seem impossible to find a way out, but remember that your knowledge will guide you, trust yourself and never doubt what you are capable of.

Oh! I forgot to mention something, there is not only one door in life, there are infinite doors and you will have to find a key for each one of them. But do not worry, you have a life to find them; never give up just because opening a door is difficult or because it is locked. In the end, there is always a way out.
