This year, the British English Olympics (BEO) once again brought together students from around the world in an unforgettable international academic experience.

More than 40 delegations from over 8 different countries participated in this year’s programme, showcasing their talent, creativity, and passion throughout the competition.

The British English Olympics is an international academic competition organized by BEO World, designed for students aged 12 to 16. Over the course of several weeks, school delegations compete in English across a variety of disciplines, combining academic challenge with cultural exchange and personal growth.

Academic Challenges & Competitions

Throughout the programme, students participated in a range of dynamic challenges designed to test their language skills, creativity, and critical thinking.

  • The Speaker’s Challenge Students researched and presented two countries, exploring cultural aspects, traditions, and shared values to build global awareness and understanding.

  • The Great Debate A fast-paced competition where students developed arguments, thought critically, and communicated persuasively while respecting diverse perspectives.

  • BEO Improvisation A creativity-driven challenge that tested spontaneity, confidence, and the ability to communicate effectively in real-time.

  • BEO Case Study Teams worked collaboratively to analyse real-world problems and present structured, well-reasoned solutions in English.

  • BEO Tech Competition A hands-on challenge where students explored innovative technologies and applied their knowledge through teamwork and problem-solving.

  • Global Spotlight A unique performance-based competition combining music, storytelling, and cultural expression to deliver powerful, meaningful messages.

Exploring the UK: Learning Beyond the Classroom

Beyond the academic challenges, students had the opportunity to experience the UK first-hand through a series of carefully planned excursions.

Students explored the iconic streets of London, visited world-renowned landmarks, and experienced the vibrant energy of the city. They also discovered the historic and academic atmosphere of Oxford, connecting their learning with real-world contexts.

In Brighton, they enjoyed a more relaxed coastal environment, discovering British seaside culture while spending time with their peers.

These excursions played a key role in the overall experience, allowing students to immerse themselves in British culture, strengthen friendships, and create unforgettable memories outside the classroom. They were not only moments of exploration, but also opportunities for cultural exchange, independence, and personal growth.

Awards & Champions

The programme concluded with a final ceremony celebrating the effort, talent, and dedication of all participating teams.

  • Champion: Escola Cidade Jardim Playpen Team 1

  • Second Runner-Up: Brazilian International School

  • Runner-Up: Colegio Jefferson

Each team demonstrated outstanding teamwork, communication skills, and commitment throughout the competition.

A Transformational Experience

The British English Olympics is more than a competition, it is a journey of personal and academic development. Students leave the programme with stronger communication skills, greater confidence, and a deeper understanding of different cultures.

At BEO World, we are proud to create experiences that inspire students to connect, grow, and see the world from a global perspective.
