One-Day Challenge 2026: A Day of Learning, Teamwork and Innovation

On August 25, BEO World brought students together for the 2026 One-Day Challenge, an academic competition designed to give participants a glimpse into the challenges, teamwork and skills that are at the heart of the BEO experience.

Hosted at Colegio Carmen Arriola de Marín, the event welcomed students from Dover High School, Colegio Tarbut, Colegio Jesús en el Huerto de los Olivos and Colegio Carmen Arriola de Marín for a day that encouraged them to think critically, communicate confidently and work together toward a common goal.

A challenge revealed on the day

One of the key elements of the One-Day Challenge is that students arrive without knowing exactly what they will face. The competition brief, rules and assigned roles are revealed at the venue, requiring each team to quickly understand the task, organize their ideas and develop a solution together.

For this edition, students stepped into the role of real-world decision-makers facing an e-waste crisis. Working in teams, they researched the issue and applied their communication, collaboration, critical-thinking and creativity skills to respond to the challenge.

The entire competition was conducted in English, giving students an additional opportunity to put their language skills into practice in an academic and collaborative environment.

Celebrating our participants

At the end of the competition, the teams presented their work before a panel of judges and were evaluated according to the established criteria.

Colegio Jesús en el Huerto de los Olivos earned first place, while Dover High School was recognized with second place. We congratulate them on their outstanding performance and celebrate every student who took part in the challenge with enthusiasm, creativity and teamwork.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Colegio Carmen Arriola de Marín for opening its doors to BEO World and the participating schools, and for welcoming us as the host of this edition of the One-Day Challenge.

Experiences like the One-Day Challenge allow students to discover what they are capable of when they step outside their everyday classroom environment, take on new challenges and work alongside their peers.
